Will it fit?

One measurement is enough: the child's inseam.

01 — Measuring

How to measure the inseam.

Height and age mislead; two children of the same age can have legs 5 cm apart. On a balance bike the only measurement that decides fit is the distance from the child's crotch to the floor. You can measure it at home in two minutes.

INSEAM IN CENTIMETRES BAREFOOT
Keep the book level with the floor; measure from its TOP edge.
  1. Have the child stand barefoot against a wall with their feet together.
  2. Push a book up between their legs, kept level, until it meets their crotch.
  3. Measure from the top edge of the book to the floor. That figure is the inseam.

02 — Calculate

Enter the measurement.

The calculation follows the common method of setting the saddle 1-2 cm below the inseam. The saddle range used here is a pre-production design target and will be confirmed in series production; this page will be updated once it is final.

03 — The figures

What it is based on.

The saddle adjusts between these two lines. The lower line is the 350 mm design target, the upper one the provisional 430 mm.

350 mm

Lowest saddle position

At this height both of the child's feet rest on the ground while seated. On a balance bike the child's own feet are both the engine and the brake.

430 mm

Highest saddle position

The saddle rises as the child grows. This figure is not final yet; see the note below.

1-2 cm

Below the inseam

The saddle is always set slightly below the inseam. Set level with it, the child ends up on tiptoe and loses confidence.

350 mm is the design target in the production file. 430 mm is provisional: it is derived from the adjustment range common in the 12-inch class and has not been verified. Maximum rider weight and handlebar adjustment are not listed because the data is not ready.
